Shay's friend and former mission companion, Alan Hansen, got married on the 10th, so we went to Salt Lake City to be a part of it.
We went to Utah on Wednesday the 9th, so we could hit up a Real Salt Lake soccer game that night! When we got there we went to Temple Square.
After trying to shop and getting a bite to eat, we headed over to Rio Tinto Stadium to get our tickets and participate in some of the pre-game activities. Cayben had fun doing the pre-game activities. He got to spin many wheels to win prizes and jump on blow up toys, but his favorite of all was when he got to go in a little cage and try to catch fake money that was blowing all around. I wish I hadn't left my camera in the car because that was one of the cutest things I had ever seen.
Real Salt Lake played the Los Angeles Galaxy. They won, which made for an awesome game! After the game, David Cook, the American Idol winner, was playing a concert. The only part that really excites me about that is that they let people come down on the field. It was fun to run around on the soccer field! Cayben even busted out some somersaults and some pretty intense dance moves while David Cook was playing. After the game we went and stayed the night at Cody and Beth's house. (They are so nice to let us stay!)
In the morning we took Shay to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple so he could go to Alan's wedding. The temple was beautiful, and Shay said the wedding experience was great!
We had planned on going to the wedding luncheon and then the reception in the evening, but after the luncheon we decided to just head home.
The trip was a lot of fun! It was fun to get to go be with Alan at such an exciting time in his life, and I just love going on little trips with my little family!
